NJUG has been updated, it is now called ‘Street Works UK Guidelines for the Planning, Installation and Maintenance of Utility Apparatus in Proximity to Trees’.
Street Works UK vol 4 guidance publications have been revised (Issue 3: 2026) – relating to anyone advising or designing for trees near utilities.
This replaces the previous 2007 issue 2 revision, previously referred to as NJUG Vol 4.
Summary of changes:
- Rebranded under Street Works UK (formerly NJUG).
- Strong emphasis on legal liability, environmental duty, climate change, and biodiversity.
- Greater focus on collaboration with Local Authority Arboriculturists (LAA) and use of Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS)
